Midland Park rates among the best neighbourhoods in the GTA when it comes to low crime. This unfortunately does not mean no crime, and though our streets are safe, clean and quiet we need to be aware of the crime that takes place near our borders.
At Brimley and 401 the Mirror has reported recent people crime and at Brimley & Ellesmere there was an attempted break and enter. In front of Churchill Collegiate there was an incident of gunfire recently as well.
Know that I do not mention this to scare anyone, but to encourage everyone to be diligent. As Staff Sergeant Wade Alphonso told a Midland Park Community meeting "if something doesn't look or feel right, report it". Use the non-emergency number for anything that concerns you (416-808-2222.)
I have been told often neighbours see people sitting in cars throughout the neighbourhood that look like they don't belong. Note the license plate and report the vehicle, you do not need to get involved and if they are doing nothing wrong they have nothing to worry about.
If you saw something you didn't report and it later turned out to be a crime in progress you wouldn't be able to forgive yourself so don't hesitate to make a call when you feel it is necessary.
I love this neighbourhood and have enjoyed this Midland Park Lifestyle since I was 18 months old. Though much of this world has changed, our slice of heaven remains the same because of conscientious neighbours like you and I. Let's work to keep this lifestyle for our children and grandchildren,..... Midland Park forever! :-)
