Hello Midland Park Community,
There are some final opportunities to express concerns / suggestions about the City's 2025 Budget and proposed 6.9% property tax increase.
Our
Ward 21 Councillor Michael Thompson doesn't seem to be organizing
anything for his constituents, but Ward 20 Councillor Parthi Kandavel is
running an in-person meeting (register here or complete his online survey). In fact, Councillor Kandavel's survey lists some great alternatives to a property tax increase:
There are also public meetings at the Scarborough Civic Centre on Tuesday, January 21 (see details below) and a telephone town hall starting at 7 p.m. on January 23 with Mayor Olivia Chow and Budget Committee Chair Councillor Shelley Carroll (call 1-833-380-0687).
Most
importantly, please spread the word to your neighbours and friends in
Midland Park and reach out to our Councillor by phone or mail:
